-This week is CMS spirit week! Tomorrow the theme will be orange and black day. No costumes are allowed tomorrow. Wednesday will be cammo day, Thursday will be bandanna day and Friday will be blue and white day.
-Yearbooks are still on sale. Cost is $20. Order forms have been sent home. To purchase online, go to jostensyearbooks.com.
-The Halloween dance has been rescheduled until Friday, Nov. 3 from 6-8. The cost is $4. Any student with 3 or more referrals or a suspension since the last dance may not attend. You must be at school by 8 a.m. and not dismissed early to attend unless you have a dr note. Students may wear costumes if they choose but they must meet school dress code.
-Winter athletes: Please be sure you have returned your sports health paperwork! Tryouts will begin November 6th. You will not be allowed to try out if you have not turned in your health forms. Any student failing 2 or more classes is not eligible to participate. Grades close November 3rd. Academic assistance will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.
-There will be an open gym for basketball players on Wednesday and Friday. Athletic study hall will be available for those in the second time slot.

Each day a winner will be announced at lunch for the homeroom with the highest percentage of students participating. On Friday, the homeroom with the highest percentage participating for the week will be given the Panther Pride banner to hang in their homeroom until the next school wide activity. See your homeroom teacher or the flyers hanging around the school to see what each day's theme is.
-One acts kids, please remember that rehearsal is at CCES today and you need to take 10B or if that’s full, 8b to get there. The activity bus will drop you back off at CMS at 4:30.
-The positive friendship group will meet with Mrs. Batchelder after school today.
-Makerspace will meet today after school. This week’s activity will be spaghetti structures and 3D pen printing. There are 10 spots available and sign ups are at the office window.

Informational Meeting - Become a Substitute or Volunteer
Have you ever thought about become a substitute at the middle school? Or maybe you want to know about volunteer opportunities at CMS? Find out what is involved with working with middle school students in general and at Central Middle School in particular. It truly is the BEST age group. There will be a brief informational meeting in the CMS Cafeteria on Thursday, Oct 26 at 6 pm. The PTO meeting will be immediately after (at 6:30), so feel free to stay for the full hour! Come because you're curious - there is no commitment to sign up for anything!!
