Happy March Everyone! As we begin preparing for next year we will be welcoming many new families here at RSU 64 through our PreK and Kindergarten program. New basketball days/times!

We kicked off our Read a-Thon at our February Thumbs Up Assembly today! Paperwork was sent home today with your children so they can start reading and recording their minutes! We definitely saw some silly and crazy socks today at CCES. Tomorrow's dress-up day is Cat in the Hat day. Don't forget to wear your craziest hair, like Things 1 and Thing 2, or a hat like the Cat.

Mark your calendars! Next week the amazing Student Art Exhibit will be set up and displayed at the Bangor Mall. Some of our very own students will have art displayed so stop by and check it out. This is the first in-person art exhibit since 2020 so we are excited to have people come and explore the amazing talents of our Maine students.

Hirundo Winter Fun Day next Saturday! Hirundo is located on the eastern edge of Hudson on the Old Town Road (Hwy 43). There will be fun activities including snowshoeing ice skating, arts activities and other winter fun. A modest admission fee per vehicle is being asked and you can reserve your spot at Eventbrite. We have had a tremendous interest in Elementary Basketball! This is great. With the large numbers (everyone who wanted to be included is) we will need to split the participants up into smaller groups. CCES is ricking off our Read-a-thon with a Dr. Seuss themed week when we return back from vacation! Here is the list of themed days! We can't wait to see our students in their themed attire!

This beautiful weather is making us look forward to summer. Since we're thinking of summer check out some of these great summer program opportunities being offered by the local YMCA.

The fourth graders have worked hard the past month on their famous Mainer studies, so we wanted to provide them with a real opportunity to interview a famous Mainer. Today, Patrick Dempsey, joined our students via zoom, so they could learn more about his acting career, hobbies, and his philanthropy within Maine. The students shared afterwards that it was a great memory for them to have and that he was a pretty "cool" guy!
