The fourth graders have worked hard the past month on their famous Mainer studies, so we wanted to provide them with a real opportunity to interview a famous Mainer. Today, Patrick Dempsey, joined our students via zoom, so they could learn more about his acting career, hobbies, and his philanthropy within Maine. The students shared afterwards that it was a great memory for them to have and that he was a pretty "cool" guy!

We have two new Hootie Award winners to announce! Mrs. Speed awarded Mrs. Sabine the Hootie award because she has been a huge help to Food Service and just jumps in to either cross names off at breakfast or help us set up. She is very involved not only in school activities but is in PTO and helps out with after school functions as well. Mrs. Wood awarded Ms. McKenzie the Hootie award because she respects her ability to connect all students and staff together through technology. She also brings new opportunities for students through coding and always provides technology help when we need it most!

We have some EXCITING news! We have announced a new mascot during our assembly with our students and staff today. There has been a lot of behind-the-scenes work with students, staff, a mascot committee, and feedback from our community that brought us to the final decision. We hope that our mascot will be a representation of who we are here at CCES. We hope that it will continue to bring community and unity to our already amazing school! Our mascot is a representation of playful, family-oriented, cuddly friends who have an adventure and curiosity of learning and discovering the world around them. As well as, friends who will grow up into strong, independent, fierce adults who become great leaders in our world. So today we are proud to officially announce the CCES BEAR CUBS!
