Mrs. Bean awarded Mrs. Perkins the CUBS award. She said, "The person that I am giving this award to is someone who puts her everything into teaching each and everyday. She shows empathy and patience to her students and goes above and beyond to build relationships with them. She takes the time to get to know her students by finding out what their likes and dislikes are. She’s a person who always thinks ahead, is organized and has a contagious smile. She always has a positive attitude and willingness to help others. Her love and dedication to her students and student's families is remarkable and we are blessed to have her here at CCES." Mrs. Shorey presented Mrs. Graham the award. She said, " She has worked in the district for many years. She is a caring, compassionate, hard working and a team player. She has helped many students work through challenging times. Not only is she amazing when working with students, she is equally amazing as a coworker. Whatever needs to be done, she is on it. I’m so glad that I have had the privilege of working closely with her and would do it again in a heartbeat. She accepted a different role and as suspected, she's still rocking it. I know that she has made our already amazing office staff even better by joining it."

Thanksgiving
Motivational Mondays: As we enter into Thanksgiving week I am thankful for traditions. The holidays are often times of joy for people but they are also times of sadness for many. Traditions can remind of us the family and friends that we can be grateful and thankful for. Traditions can also remind us of the ones we love and have loved that don't get to share the holidays with us in the same way anymore. One tradition that my family has done every year are holiday table poppers, or "crackers." The excitement of popping the cracker, reading the joke inside, seeing what little trinket prize you've won, and most of all seeing who wears their little paper hat during the whole meal brings a fun tradition year after year. Throughout the years we have seen some changes in who sits behind those poppers. Some of our loved ones have passed while others have been welcomed into the family and our traditions. It is a choice for us to carry on a tradition, to say goodbye to some, but also to take the opportunity to create new ones. What tradition will you participate in? A new one, a modified one, or a brand new one? Whatever your week brings in regard to celebrating the Thanksgiving week, find something to celebrate, something you can be thankful for, big or small, and remember this year you have all the authority needed to make this year one to remember.

Mrs. Allard awarded Mrs. Bean the CUBS Award. She states, " I am giving this award to is someone who goes above and beyond to build and maintain relationships with each and every student in her classroom. This person looks for the positive strengths in her students and when she feels like something didn’t go well she spends time self reflecting to see if there is or was a better way to help that child and make them feel successful. She puts her heart and soul into her students and she is always willing to take time and listen to what a student has to say. This person also recognizes when students are having a hard time and willingly gives them space to sort through the problem before helping them figure out a solution that is a win-win for all. She is also just an amazing person that I feel honored to have as a fellow staff member here at CCES!" Mrs. Fall award Mrs. Shorey the CUBS award. She states, "Mrs. Shorey provides a classroom atmosphere that is calm, warm, and warm welcoming for her students. She remains calm and unbothered during difficult situations and works hard to make her students feel heard and valued in the classroom. Mrs. Shored always has a positive and upbeat demeanor and is open to suggestion that are in the best interest of the students she works with."

What's Happening Wednesdays: There has been a lot happening this week at CCES. Yesterday marked our 50th day of school and our staff celebrated by dressing in 50s themed attire. Many classrooms are participating in crafts and activities that help them reflect on what they are thankful for and hosting some exciting events with family or friends. The end of the first quarter has come to an end and we have dove into second quarter with both feet as children continue to engage in daily learning opportunities. We love teaching your kids each and every day!

Motivational Mondays: Today is World Kindness Day. I am so grateful for those who have shown kindness to me but more importantly that I get to give it freely each and every day. Kindness, compassion, and love are free gifts that we can give to others at anytime and anywhere. This week I encourage you to show kindness to someone at work, at home, or in your community. Show compassion to someone who may need a little extra pick me up, a hug, or even just a smile. Love those around you in your actions and in your words. As you do these things watch and see the positive impact it makes for you and for others.

Motivational Mondays: Gratitude... the dictionary defines it as "a distinguishing characteristic of being thankful." Do you want to be known as someone who lives with thankfulness and gratitude? As we enter into the second week of November many are reminded it's a month of thankfulness. Today I encourage you to extend it from a month of thankfulness and gratitude to a lifestyle of it. What are you thankful for today? Each day this week find something you are grateful for, big or small, say it out loud, and before you know it you will be overwhelmed by the number of things you become grateful for.
