On October 31st, we awarded two new recipients for the Hootie award! Mr. Clark awarded Mrs. Gross, our daytime custodian, the Hootie award for always going above and beyond with keeping our school clean. Mrs. Bryer awarded Mr. Howard, K-2 Special Education teacher, for greeting students with a smile every morning and responding to students who are in need of additional assistance.

We had our very first Thumbs Up assembly today and it went great! One of our schoolwide initiatives this year is to implement PBIS which is Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports within our school. CCES has always recognized students for their positive behaviors and we plan to continue to do so this year. We will be honoring two students per classroom each month at our Thumbs Up assembly. Some of you may have noticed that your child came home with a certificate today. We are excited to celebrate together as a school and for your child to also celebrate their successes with you at home!

Our first theme week of the year is just around the corner. Here is a list of the theme days for next week. A reminder will be sent out each evening so that you have time to pick out your clothes for the next day. We love our theme weeks and we are so excited to see what you have to show off next week.

You may have noticed that your child had come home with stamps on their hands. We have started a new PBIS positive behavior initiative within our lunchroom. When students demonstrate being safe, respectful, and responsible they receive a stamp! At the end of the week three students per grade level are chosen to sit on the stage as a “Special Guest”. If you see that your child has a stamp, this is a great way to ask them how they demonstrated being safe, respectful, or responsible within the lunchroom!

A huge shout out to the Corinth United Methodist Church for the incredible gifts given to the staff in RSU 64 today! We’ve been “graced”! Each employee received a gift card to Dunkin Donuts today. Your recognition of the school staff and all they do is much appreciated. We are so fortunate to have you as community partners!

This week’s award recipients for the Hootie award are: Mr. Clark and Mrs. Bryer. Both are most deserving of this award! When Mrs. Hart announced Mr. Clark as her choice for the Hootie award she said, “Every child deserves to be greeted into their school building like Mr. Clark does for our kids! He starts their days off on a positive note”. Mrs. Morrisette said about Mrs. Bryer that she, “Provides a welcoming classroom environment for all students to learn in”. We’re incredibly proud of both educators!

Did you know this week is Fire Prevention Week? Our students learned a lot about first responders and the important work they do to keep people safe. Students are also learning all this week what they can do to stay safe at school and at home. Remember to review with your kids what your family's plan is at home if there is ever an emergency. Thank you to all the first responders who made our students' day extra special today.
