Lead Water Sample Results

This notification is public notification of recent individual lead water sample results taken at Central Middle and Central High School.  The results of tests taken on June 29, 2021 indicate an elevated level of lead in one fixture at Central High School.  I have attached a copy of all results and a copy of the current Corrosion Control Plan Approval from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.  Our current approved control plan will now need to be revised and resubmitted given the recent elevated level in the CHS cafeteria drinking fountain.  This is a new elevated result of 17 PPB (parts per billion) not observed in previous testing. The Maximum Contaminant Level Goal (MCLG) is 15 PPB. The fountain has been disabled until further notice.

If you have questions about this topic, please do not hesitate to contact me or the RSU 64 Water Operator, Daniel Roy, for further information.
