RSU/MSAD No. 64 seeks to identify those students who have exhibited characteristics of giftedness in the areas of academics and visual/performing arts in order to provide learning opportunities that will allow them to go above, beyond, or into more depth than provided by the regular curriculum. Programming will include opportunities for accelerated learning, differentiation within the classroom, and extracurricular activities. Students will be screened and referred for additional testing if appropriate. For students who meet criteria set forth in Chapter 104 GT regulations for gifted and talented, the district will hold a district-level team meeting for identified students to establish an individual learning plan for the student.
As a parent, you may refer your child for consideration of gifted and talented programming. To make a referral, contact Riley Donovan, the district’s gifted and talented coordinator, at 285-4341.
